Blooming Art is a series of floral paraphrases that me and Petra Radnai made in the end of 2019.
Every single picture that we choose to imitate we observed in many different ways.
Petra reflected on the style of the original paintings during her work. She was using different type of compositions to bring extra additional meaning to each piece. She also chose the type of the flowers based on the personality of the characters she was imitating.
I had three different focuses during the process: backgrounds, lighting and the postproduction. The goal was to create a context to each piece with the painted backgrounds. I was lighting each floral composition similarly as the recreated characters had on the paintings. Finally I edit the brightness, colors and the texture of the photographs in the most identical way as it was possible comparing to the original paintings.MICHELANGELO: THE CREATION OF ADAM
Art history:
The Creation Of Adam is a fresco painted by Michelangelo Buonarroti in 1509–1510 as part
of the Sistine Chapel’s ceiling in Vatican City.
It is an exemplary piece of Italian High Renaissance art.
The left side of the fresco depicts Adam leaning on his elbow on the ground, while God is
lying in the hands of floating angels on the right. The painting focuses on the moment of
creation with a gap between the two fingers to mark that the act of creation is not a physical-
material one as God brings the first human spirit to life from a state of unconsciousness and
sleep.Floral design:
Flower and arrangement:
When creating the composition, we paid particular attention to Michelangelo’s style of
painting, the spatial arrangement of God and Adam and represented the floating figure of God
with a suspended composition. While selecting the flowers, we did not only consider colours,
but the monumentality, aerial lightness, discipline and omnipotence of God as well. These
traits are represented by thick peonies and Charles Darwin roses, loosely structured
eucalyptuses and thorny, woody Mahonias. For the character of Adam, we selected smaller,
thicker and simpler flowers mainly based on colour, therefore, we primarily used Dianthuses,
bouquets of mini roses and Lisianthuses. We have chosen a Digitalis to reflect the grace and
lightness of the two hands at the centre of the painting.
Photo:
Lighting:
We wanted to depict the floating figure of God in sharp contrast with human Adam lying on
the ground. Michelangelo paints the scene in an ethereal void with bright light shining from
slightly above. To achieve a similar effect, we provided lighting for the flower arrangement
slightly from above with two lamps positioned in the middle.
Post-processing:
The fresco is characterized by mild colours, strong contours and creamy, radiating light. We
created this atmosphere by boosting vivid and bright tones, while slightly desaturating colours
and reducing noise.FRA ANGELICO: THE VIRGIN OF THE ANNUNCIATION
Art history:
Fra Angelico is also known as the painter of Annunciations. This particular piece of art depicts
the angel Gabriel and the Virgin Mary at the moment of the Annunciation. We wanted to
outline the angel entering the building where the Virgin Mary is sitting. The composition
recreates their posture and their location.Floral design:
Flower and arrangement:
Our main aim was to imitate the colours characterizing Fra Angelico’s painting style. The
attention of the Virgin Mary and the angel towards each other is marked by the location and
the angle of the flowers. We have selected soft flowers like garden roses, Lisianthuses and
small-headed roses to reflect the gentle and sensitive nature of the figures. We marked the
wing of the angel with a crane flower, which we also used to keep the composition in balance
and to represent the kneeling leg of the angel entering the room. The Virgin Mary’s blue dress
is made out of the radiant blue fruit of Viburnum and silver-leafed Begonias.
Photo:
Lighting: In Fra Angelico’s painting, light comes in from the left side behind the angel. We
have lighted the arrangement with two constant lights from the left and brightened it from the
other side to preserve the sunlit effect of the original painting.
Post-processing:
Despite clear contour lines, the painting is characterized by low contrasts. Mostly pastel
colours create a gentle harmony. This atmosphere was recreated by desaturation, increasing
sharpness and softening clarity and contrast during post-processing.JACQUES-LOUIS DAVID: MADAME RÉCAMIER
Art history:
Jacques Louis David (1748–1825) was the first significant painter of French classicism and
he later became one of Napoleon’s favourites. His portrait of Madame Récamier with its
captivating style and the vibrant, unique painting method of the background is an outstanding
piece of art. Julie or Juliette Récamier (originally Jeanne-Françoise Julie Adélaïde Bernard)
was a leading figure of early 19th century literary and political society.
Juliette opened a salon as a meeting place for a select group of people.
The beautiful young lady was surrounded by adorers. She was among the first ones to furnish
her residence in an Etruscan style. She was wearing antique clothes at the time of the
Directory contributing to the popularity of the antique style during imperial rule.
Her salon played a significant role in the political-intellectual life of the era.
Floral design:
Flower and arrangement:
Madame Recamier is represented by soft, gentle flowers resembling her character and
graceful beauty, such as David Austin roses, Lisianthuses, Digitalises and Ranunculuses.
The figure of the lying lady is outlined by a stretched-out composition. A textile material
completes the arrangement to underline the association.
Photo:
Lighting:
The light in the painting comes in from one point in the centre top. We used two lamps in the
middle and we raised the stronger light source to achieve a similar effect for the arrangement.
Post-processing:
The brush technique in the painting is gentle at the figure of the Madame, but much stronger
and rougher for the surroundings. This texture is marked by increased grain, while the
gripping difference between light and shadow in the painting is recreated by the significantly
increased contrast.ISAAC ISRAËLS: IN THE CAFÉ
Art history:
Isaac Israëlst (1865–1934) is considered to be one of the greatest figures of modern Dutch
painting besides Van Gogh and Mondrian.
He loved to submerge in the vibrant and colourful world of streets, clubs, music and dance
cafés, fashion and the life of Amsterdam. His main aim was to capture the present moment
quickly. In case of this café scene, we worked with the whole composition including the focus
on the moment, the brush technique and the spectacular colour dynamics.
Floral design:
Flower and arrangement:
When selecting the flowers and creating the arrangement, we mainly concentrated on the
vibrant lights and small brush strokes characterizing the impressionist painting style. The
swirling colours of the original painting are reflected by the flowers. The orange of the lady’s
drink in the painting is marked by unique, strong yellow of Ranunculuses and Juliet roses.
Photo:
Lighting: The painting depicts the interiors of a room, where light comes in from the top left.
We illuminated our arrangement the same way with a lamp and softly brightened the flowers
from the other side. Light also penetrates the orange liquid in the glass, therefore, we let
some natural light into the room to emphasise the orange flowers.
Post-processing:
Our aim was to showcase the bold brush strokes characterising impressionist artists, which
are bright spots rather than contour lines. We slightly increased the contrast of the picture to
accentuate these spots. At the same time we reduced noise and created a unique texture
marked by soft grain.EDGAR DEGAS: STAR OF THE BALLET
Art history:
Degas loved to feature dancers in his paintings. Star of the Ballet portraying Rosita Maurit is a
pastel created with monotyping. Monotypes are imprints of a drawing originally created on a
copper or glass plate and then transferred to a sheet of paper by pressing the two surfaces
together. Star of the Ballet was showcased on the third exhibition of the impressionists.
The painting is realistic and supernatural at the same time. The playful lights and the original
perspective contribute to the extraordinary effect. Behind the scenes dancers and a man are
watching the prima ballerina. They are merely torsos without heads, the painting focuses on
the ballet dancer, who graciously bows in front of the audience.
Floral design:
Flower and arrangement:
When creating the flower arrangement, we wanted to reflect on the aerial lightness of Degas’
ballet dancer. Therefore, we have chosen soft-petalled David Austin roses, Ranunculuses
and Lisianthuses. The location of the flowers, the structure of the composition marks the
charming and dynamic movements of the ballerina. Her gracious hand position is outlined by
the arch of a hazel branch.
Photo:
Lighting: As a theatrical scene the composition is angled upwards, therefore, we took the
photo from slightly above. It is illuminated from below, at the height of the imaginary stage.
Two lamps are lighting the arrangement from the bottom right and we also brightened the
flowers slightly.
Post-processing: During post-processing, we desaturated the colours to create a softer,
pastel effect and increased contrast and grain to achieve a texture resembling the painting.REMBRANDT H. VAN RIJN: THE ANATOMY LESSON OF DR. NICOLAES TULP
Art history:
In the 17th century, anatomy lectures were open door events attended by doctors, medical
students and other visitors. The painting probably depicts a public autopsy organized on 31
January 1632 and conducted by Dr Nicolaes Tulp, the anatomist of Amsterdam. The city
permitted only one public autopsy per year for which they used the body of an executed
criminal.
Rembrandt was commissioned by the Guild of Surgeons in Amsterdam to capture the event
and every figure in the painting paid a fee to the artist to be featured in the masterpiece.Floral design:
Flower and arrangement:
We tried to capture the play of lights and shadows characteristic of Rembrandt, while creating
the flower arrangement. We stuck the flowers in a dark stone bowl and put the composition in
front of a dark background. The dead body in the centre of the painting is marked by thick-
blossomed cream and white roses, which create a homogenous, united structure close to
each other. We only used white flowers for the figures observing the dead body:
Ranunculuses in the foreground and smaller-headed Lisianthuses for the background. The
collars of the doctors are outlined by Kalanchoes.
Photo:
Lighting: We recreated the distinctive lighting painted by Rembrandt. The main light source
and the brightening was set based on the original, while we also tried to reflect on the soft,
slightly hazy atmosphere, so we utilized incense-burners to thicken the air and create unique
lighting conditions.
Post-processing:
We focused on Rembrandt’s subtle and soft brush technique and the marked difference
between lights and shadows. We increased contrast and softened the picture, while reducing
clarity.MICHELANGELO MERISI DA CARAVAGGIO: SAINT MATTHEW AND THE ANGEL
Art history:
In 1599, Caravaggio received his first significant Church commission thanks to Del Monte’s
support. He was invited to paint the chapters of Saint Matthew’s life for the Contarelli Chapel
at the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi. The venture started on the wrong foot as the first
version of Saint Matthew and the Angel was not accepted by the client. They condemned
Caravaggio for painting the saint as an illiterate peasant and they were most likely right as
Saint Matthew was originally a tax collector, who probably could read and write. But the next
four paintings were so successful that Caravaggio became one of the most popular painters
of Rome overnight.
Floral design:
Flower and arrangement:
We concentrated on Caravaggio’s unique choice of colours and the reflection of lights. We
used vivid orange and claret flowers for Matthew’s clothes, such as Lisianthuses, roses and
Dianthuses. We outlined the evangelist on his knees by the arch and two levels of the
arrangement. The aerial figure of the angel is marked with a suspended composition. The
floating apparition is recreated with light, soft roses and faint Dianthuses.
Photo:
Lighting: In Caravaggio’s paintings light and dark are in bold, dramatic contrast with each
other creating an effect called chiaroscuro. When we set the lighting for the arrangement, we
aimed at recreating this atmosphere. We utilized a light source at the top and slightly
brightened from the front. The orange glimmer of the original painting is evoked by the
candles in the background.
Post-processing:
We wanted to accentuate the dramatic effect by increasing contrast, deepening shadows and
strengthening highlights. We also increased grain to mark Caravaggio’s brush technique. To be continued…

Their wedding day started with a massive rain that allowed us to slow down and create a cozy and intimate pre-wedding session just before the preparation would start.
After they got ready the sun came out and their beautiful ceremony began. It was a delightful day filled with many feelings and it was truly amazing to capture the best moments and be a part of it.Location: Losi Major

She always dreamed of having some nice photos of them during an adventurous holiday. In June I joined them on their Scottish summer break and we explored the Loch an Eilein together. - Kriszti & Andris – Slovenian Engagement Session (6/27/2019)
Kriszti and Andris asked me to shoot their engagement session in Slovenia. Last year I was lucky to photograph at Lake Bohinj a magical elopement story already so I was very excited about their plan.
We were lucky enough to observe and capture a breathtaking phenomenon after a huge storm.
Kriszti and Andris were just as inspired by the weather as I was. This brought a lot of excitment and feeling into this photo session and made it absolutely special.
Andris is the manager and the guitarist of a popular hungarian band, The Biebers. Therefore his lifestyle is very intense and Kriszti is the one who always helps him, inspires him and support him. They know each other since high school so they basically grow up together. The way how they live and work can be an example to us all. - Robin & Art – Netherland Couple Session (5/7/2019)
Robin and Art and their story is one of the most inspiring to me among all. They are extremely talented, they are in love, they are happy and they are free. I have learned a lot during shooting their session.
- Roni & Zoli – Alpaca Farm Engagement Session (5/7/2019)
- Sanne & Melchior – Amsterdam Engagement Session (5/6/2019)
Sanne and Melchior invited me to Amsterdam to spend a beautiful spring day with them and explore their hometown. Then they didn’t know soon they will receive the best news ever….Sanne was pregnant with twins. This was a wonderful and exciting period in their life and I am glad I got a chance to be a part of their story and capturing the happiness they share. They are absolutely wonderful parent since then and I hope one day I can meet their beautiful children.
- Niki & Zoli – Hallstatt Engagement Session (3/30/2019)
Niki and Zoli imagined a winter engagement photo shooting in Hallstatt, Austria. This little treasure box is truly magical and I am glad I had to see it during the winter period.
Their story is very heartwarming and I believe Hallstatt always will be their special place to celebrate their love. - Juli & David – Glencoe Couple Session (12/13/2018)
I met Juli and David in Scotland and we travelled together for few days. They are an amazing and beautiful couple and it was a great pleasure to get to know them and photograph them as a couple.
This session was only a slice of our trip. We crossed mainly the area of Glencoe and went up to the majestic Isle of Skye.
Juli and David helped me afterwards with the „Neath Waters” project so we explored quite a lot in the Scottish Higlands together.
Juli has a great taste and she owns a wedding styling company, which I highly reccomend you to check out here, because she is incredible.
During this couple session I literally felt like being in a fairy tale where deers were running among springs and mountains. - Neath Waters (10/20/2018)

In Edinburgh I met Sanne and Melchior and we spent a nice morning together. They are not only beautiful but really amazing people. I still can not believe I had a chance to photograph them during their Scottish holiday. Sanne is a very talented Dutch actress and she engaged to Melchior. Recently they have been through a lot and this little trip to Edinburgh was symbolic (in a kind of way) to them. I hope these pictures will be the documentary of their new and happy beginning.
We had so much fun during our photo session. I hope these pictures will always remind them how strong is the connection between them. As you can see we experienced the stunning views of this magical city just as the crazy Scottish weather. - Noemi & Mate – Wedding Story (8/21/2018)
Noemi and Mate are beautiful and talented souls. They are sharing a life and a passion, because their profession is making documentaries. They are partners in life and behind the camera as well and this strong connection and harmony between them is really impressive and effects everything in a positive way around them. All part of their wedding story was special and unique including the decoration which was an additional magic on this stunning celebration. I captured this wedding as a proud member of team Barefoot Wedding Style. Working alongside these group of people and meeting Noemi and Mate is such a great gift from life.
- Orsi & Janos – Wedding Story (7/28/2018)
Orsi and Janos got married in June. Their wedding made a huge impact on me, because it was simple, kind, free and bohemian and truly just about what a wedding should be about. Only the closest family members and friends were invited and it’s been held in a beautiful place called Tundererdo, in a middle of a little forest. They made everything hand in hand. Orsi is an interior designer and she made all the decoration for their day and Janos helped her with the wood works, because he is a carpenter. Their story is one of a kind and I hope it will inspire many people.

- Angela & Mate – Engagement Session (6/4/2018)
Angela and Mate are beautiful, young and adventurous souls. They love traveling (actually we just missed each other in Vietnam) and they have a special connection with the Lake Balaton. When we started to plan their engagement session it was obvious they would love the great Badacsony in the background. We had everything what we wished for, water, mountains, wind, fire and a cozy set to enjoy the sunset.
- Vietnam- Travel Story (5/22/2018)
First time in my life I had a chance to travel to Asia. It was a life changing experience in many ways and I am still struggling to find the right words. I hope the pictures will tell more about this wonderful world. I started my journey in Vietnam and in this chapter I share those pictures which I was taken around the north of the country. In the begining you can see pictures from the very north, the mountains and rise fields of Ha Giang provence which is close to the Chinese border and many different ethnic group are living there . Later from the most beautiful places around Hanoi and the last few pictures was taken in Hanoi.
- Flora & Adam – Slovenian Elopement Story (4/18/2018)
I don’t even know how to begin this story. Flora and Adam literally made one of my dream come true.
They are beautiful people inside and outside but they were also so keen to do a unique photo session which inspired me so much.
We traveled to Slovenia and next day we start shooting before sunrise. Waking up crazy early is already something what many people would skip but they did it. Mornings are always amazing, the lights are so soft, the fog disappear in front of our eyes and we actually can hear how the nature wakes up. Everything is quite and slow and Flora and Adam were so respectful, so kid towards each other which made an unrepeatable start to our photo session. The whole day was a real experience, we walked around the lake then hiked up to a waterfall and we followed the stream down to the valley. I can’t be glad and thankful enough to them to be so patient and so open to all my ideas.
This pictures are telling the story of that day what we spent together. Their relationship is one of a kind and it was heartwarming to capture them during this escape.
I hope it makes many couple to think about doing something like this because it will be a vivid memory even after years and years. - Myanmar – Travel Story (4/18/2018)
The second country on my journey in Asia was Myanmar. This country is about the magical sunrises and sunsets and about the locals whose are not just extremely welcoming but also very strong in all ways. The pictures were taken in Yangon, Bagan, Mount Popa, Mandalay and the island around Mandalay. It is truly a million ways to live in our planet and after seeing these places I think we can not appraciate enough what we have in Europe. .
- Reka – Portrait Session (3/21/2018)
- Xeni & Tamas – Winter Wedding Story (3/13/2018)
Xeni and Tamas married in January and they literally made my year with their wedding. I could not wish for a better a start…their story was beautiful in many way. Xeni born in Siberia and she is half Russian but she grew up in Hungary. That is the reason behind the scarf and blue colour in the accessories.
Tamas told me during the wedding to not to worry about if something is not perfect because there is only one thing which is important for them and that is the fact they are there and they can share their feelings with their closest family members and friends. This is a little ironic but he was the first who ever said anything like this to me, usually everyone lost a little in the details and they want everything to be perfect including the photos the lights and everything, but their day was just about happiness and I am glad they chose me to document their beautiful wedding. I am honoured to know them, they are truly beautiful people not just outside but also inside.
Their stunning rings made by the talented Agi Ripszam, you can find her works at her site Dimesso.
The beautiful makeup of Xeni was made by Renata Gali. - Portugal – Travel photography (3/13/2018)
Portugal is an amazing country. Lisbon always been on my list but I am glad I got the chance to visit Porto as well. Just few words tells everything about it: calm, clean, great vibe, friendly people, beautiful nature, amazing tiles, great food, breathtaking views.
- Italy – Travel photography (2/13/2018)
In my life 2017 was a year with full of adventures through many countries. In this first chapter I will share few pictures from the hidden beauty of the abandoned South Italy.
- Iceland – Landscapes (2/13/2018)
The Journey to the Centre of the Earth was the title of my landscape exhibition back in 2016, in London. This was my first art-landscape project and I am happy to share these pieces here with everyone. Iceland has many different faces and no matter where you go you always find endless amount of unreal views…
- Orsi & Ian – Couple session from Cambodia (12/28/2017)
This year so many unbelievable things happened…one of them was my trip to Asia and this couple session which I shot at the magical Siem Reap. After visiting Vietnam and Myanmar I arrived to Cambodia and I spent three amazing days with Orsi and Ian wondering around the temples of the old Angkor city. The place is located in the middle of the jungle and apart from few of the temples which have been renovated the rest of the ruins are almost untouched so we often felt like Indiana Jones during our exploring period.
Orsi and Ian are both architects, they met in The Netherlands in the university and after graduating they have decided to go on an adventure to Asia, to Singapore to find a job. It was probably the biggest challenge in their life but they managed to get a job and a professional experience what they were dreaming about. They spent more than a year working in that side of the planet.
When Orsi and Ian had some holiday they went to explore Asia. (About these trips you can find posts in Orsi’s blog.)
At the end of this year they decided it is time to move back to Europe and settle down. Before doing it I joined them and we made this very unique couple session to create a memory for them, which will always remind them for this period and for the fact anything you want, you can achieve just you need to be patient and instead of giving up you must fight for it. I belive their story is truly inspiring and it was an honour to take part in it at the end.
So I am glad to present these pictures about challenge, love and this incredible place on Earth. - Reka & Kornel – Wedding Story (12/19/2017)
- Zsofi & Denes – Wedding Story (12/13/2017)
Zsofi and Denes are an amazing couple and their wedding was just amazing. Simple, honest with many funny moments.
Zsofi is a graphic designer and all the decoration was her idea, which was an extra cherry on top I belive. - Vivi & Ter – Wedding Story from Budapest (12/12/2017)
- Detti&Attila – Couple Session (10/14/2017)
Detti and Attila are both artists. It is always a pleasure to photograph artistic souls especially because we can feel each other straight from the smallest signs. Detti does film photography, the honest, raw, real kind, the black and white pictures from her are my favourites. Attila does graphic design, the marvel kind of stuff, so he is crazy talented too.
We spent a beautiful afternoon together near Budapest. and I am so glad we met. This story was simply perfect, not just because everything went so smooth, the location was unique, the lights were stunning but these two brought the soul into it. - Petra & Balazs – Couple Session (8/8/2017)
Few weeks ago I already mentioned on the Bohemian Summer Night story how I met with Petra and Balazs. They are not just beautiful but also very talented young souls. Their project is the Just Stay Natural, focusing mainly on alternative wedding photography so I was pleased when they asked me to take a few pictures of them. It is always a great honour to receive a request like this, especially because I love so much their inner world and works and I feel our visual goals are really close.
We had many ideas location wise but in the end we choose the Viragos Pagony in Fot, which was an incredible place to shoot and we were really lucky with the lights as well. Summer is always a magical time to shoot and when the sunset started a little cloud flew in front of the Sun to create the best lights ever. The whole session was very inspiring and I am happily sharing it with everyone. This story was photographed in a cinematic way, showing many details and capturing real feelings which are the most important for me as a photographer. - Barbara and Tommaso – Engagement session in Craco (8/8/2017)
Barbara and Tommaso…This story starts a long time ago, but I will try to tell the short version of it. These two beautiful people met over ten years ago and since then they had so much to deal with, but they were always together. Their story is one of a kind and I am so proud to be their friends.
I met them almost five years ago in London. They were working there just like so many other foreigner souls and hoped for a better future. They are both from Italy, from the magical South…They wanted to move back there but there wasn’t easy to find a job so they decided Tommaso will go back to Italy and try his best while Barbara stayed in London to make sure if the plan wouldn’t work out they still have a place to continue their life. It was a very sad period and I remember for all those nights, walking around London with Barbara and talking about our dreams and then we were just wishing the life will sort out things for us and we will be able to live where and how we want…and then I moved back, then they moved back, but I went back to London again and we did’t had any chance to meet until now.
She said to me in 2013 if she will get married she wants me to take her wedding pictures, and four years later here we are. We finally met again and I spent a magical week with them in Italy, documenting and experiencing every single bit of a huge Italian wedding which was an incredible experience.
So this is only the first chapter of all the happenings and this story will be continued with the wedding pictures.
First night we went to Craco, to the abandoned town to shoot some engagement photo. The heat was crazy so we only had a chance to shoot just after the sunset. - Lilla&Sam – Bohemian Summer Night (7/6/2017)
These photos are so close to my heart and I feel like I must tell the story behind it.
Over a month ago I had a chance to meet in real life with my Hungarian maverick heroes with Petra and Balazs (Just Stay Natural). Their photographs are more than pictures to me and it was an honour when they shared their secret dream with me, which was to shoot at least once on a rooftop. I was smiling when they mentioned it because I just found the best rooftop in Budapest back then. Perfectly abandoned, nobody could bother a shooting there so I offered them the opportunity and a week later they told me about their friends who are living in Canada and they just got married there but they wanted to do a creative wedding photo session in Budapest. This is how it started and this is how we all found ourselves on that rooftop a few days ago.
Lilla and Sam are not just beautiful but they have a rad taste and their bohemian personality was all-pervading and it filled up every second of our short shooting time.
We started to shoot in the beginning of the “blue hour” and we finished when it was totally dark. We worked together as a team, and we often laughed at the intimate “workshop” atmosphere.
It was more than a bunch of people creating something together, we made friendships and in the end the most exciting part for me was to see how Petra and Balazs saw the same things from their perspective. You can find the link to their photographs in the end of the post. (Highly recommended :))
It was a truly beautiful experience with truly amazing people and I am sure I will always remember this magical evening.

Flower: Bloom flowers and design Budapest - Dia&Andris- Engagement Session (7/3/2017)
I met Dia around eight years ago, and I was so glad when she contacted me and shared the best news, she will get married in September. I can not wait until their big day because they will have their ceremony in an amazing place!
Dia loves the sea and the lakes so when we got to the point to find a location for their engagement photos she already knew where she wanted to go. This is how we ended up in Bokod, which they usually just call as “The floating village”. Her other half: Andris is a very positive, energetic and kind person and I have to say they are perfect together.
Beautiful, young, happy people in love, and a unique location in a perfect time gave us these photos as a result. - Anett – Portrait Session (6/10/2017)
Last autumn I shot Anett with her other half, but this time she asked me to take some photographs of herself alone as well. After some brainstorming we decided to visit a mine where there is a beautiful lake too. We had a wonderful day and even though it was raining heavily at the beginning, when the lights came back, it gave a special feeling to the pictures. It is a special place and Anett with her mysterious outfit brought the magic into the overall look.
- Adrienn – Rooftop photo session (6/3/2017)
“ A picture is a secret about a secret…” – Diane Arbus
The story behind these photographs is quite incredible. Adrienn told me about her secret plan to make few intimate pictures of herself for her other half’s birthday. She was open for any ideas and in the end I came up with a rooftop location which was perfect in terms of the fact that an outdoor place above the city is where nobody can disturb us. I really wanted to create pictures which are intimate but still tasteful, and that is how we ended up shooting a few details as well. Andrienn was such a great model and even tough it was her first ever photo shoot we created something together which ended up on the Italian Vogue’s site. 🙂
So I am really proud to announce I have a public portfolio available here!
From today these photos are not secret anymore and we are happily sharing with you the best ones below. - Edvard&Kasia – Couple Session (4/23/2017)
I am happily sharing this story here because this is a couple session which is really close to my heart in many ways.
I know Edvard from university and back then we spent a lot of time together. He studied philosophy and loves astronomy. A long time ago he surprised me on my birthday with a polaroid camera and couple of times we went out to watch stars in the sky. Once we even seen the planet Saturn…He is such a unique gentleman.
He met Kasia at the end of our university years and since then they are happy together.
Kasia came to Hungary from Poland and she studied Hungarian language on the highest level. I’ve never met with anyone who would speak like her on this hard language. She is very talented, brave and beautiful. This weekend we went to the mountains close to Budapest and we spent a magical day out. The sky was cloudy, the mountains were stunning and the wind was blowing so I had all the components to create something great.
Edvard and Kasia are truly beautiful together and I wish them never ending happiness. - Nora – Portrait Session (3/17/2017)
Recently I was taking a few studio photo shoot orders and I hope in the future time to time I will have the chance to continue this because I have to confess I quite like it.
Here is a few pieces of the latest portrait session. This was Nora’s first ever photo shoot in a studio and her imagination of the final pictures was very colourful so below you will find three different styled pages. Nora is a talented and energetic young lady and it was a pleasure to work with her. And last but not least a huge thanks to Katrina Gyorgyova who did the beautiful make up for this occasion. - Marianne – Fashion Photo Session (2/7/2017)
My friend, the very talented Judit Dombovari offered me the opportunity to be her assistant time to time which I happily accepted and not just because it is a great way to learn. I have seen her photographs in the pat few years and her journey to become a real professional was really inspiring to observe.
She and her team did a fashion shooting on Monday and I was mainly shooting the process behind the scenes but I also had a chance to shoot for my own sake a bit. The result is below. 🙂 - Orsi – Portrait Session (1/10/2017)
Here we are, it is already 2017! After a long time I finally met my really good friend who I know since elementary school. We both left our country a long time ago and it was quite rare to see each other back in Budapest but this year we managed it. She was studying in the Netherlands to become an architect and after graduating she moved to China then now to Singapore to become a professional. I think her story is amazing and can be an inspiration to everyone. We spent a day out in the city and during our time I took a few portraits. It was crazy challenging because of the freezing weather which hit the country that time. It was around -10°C but the lights were so beautiful…
- Oliver – Portrait Session (12/29/2016)
A few weeks ago my friend introduced me to Oliver Patocska who is a very talented singer-songwriter and some of you may know him as a former member of Bytheway from the Hungarian X-Factor. He ordered a few photographs with a crazy short deadline which is quite unusual but I was willing to do it. My main problem was to find a studio within such a short time but a kind photographer friend of mine helped me out with a contact to Feszek Studio to whom I thank here for their helpful and kind service. So in a few hours we were ready to shoot with Oliver and I am pleased to spread the word he is such a talent as a model too. His personality is so layered in a very good way plus his hands are very expressive. Even though I am not familiar with the studio environment and fashion shooting is still not my cup of tea, I am glad I had a chance to try something new and different. The cherry on the top of this story was to experience this type of collective support all around me so thanks everyone again who was involved in this project!
And thanks to everyone who was helping me during this year in photography and to all of you who has been a follower of my work! Happy New Year to all of you guys! 🙂 - Nori and the botanic garden – portrait session at Fuveszkert (11/7/2016)
Couple of weeks ago Nori asked me for few photographs of herself and she gave me the opportunity to pick the location. She is a beautiful and young girl so I stared to wonder which would be the best spot to shoot her and then I remembered there was a botanic garden in Budapest called the Fuveszkert and I’ve always wanted to go there. We agreed in this but we didn’t know what to expect. When we arrived the Sun just came out and gave us the perfect lighting so we knew this is it, we found it. We started to explore the garden and the glass houses. There are so many different and unique plants…definitely worth to visit!
So a stunning location and a beautiful girl with amazing lights…What else could I wish as a photographer? You find the result below, I hope you will enjoy just as much as we did!
